RIRS (Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery) is an advanced, 100% incisionless procedure. A highly flexible fiberoptic endoscope is inserted through the natural urinary passage to reach the kidney. A Holmium laser fiber is then used to break kidney stones into microscopic dust particles without any skin cuts or external bleeding.
RIRS requires no skin cuts and is ideal for kidney stones up to 2 cm. PCNL (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy) involves a miniature keyhole entry (less than 1 cm) on the back and is the treatment of choice for larger stones (>2 cm), staghorn stones, or multiple dense kidney calculi.
